After last years problems we aimed to make the most of this summer. At the beginning of June we set off to Mull and islay. Apart from the anchor windlass packing up in the Bull Hole anchorage in the Sound of Iona, we had an excellent cruise though could have done with a bit more wind. We cycled and bussed to all the distilleries! On the way back, between Port Ellen and Jura we had a close encounter with a pilot whale. On return a replacement anchor winch was ordered.

In August, after fitting a replacement anchor winch, we set sail to visit the new marina at Lochboisdale. It is an excellent facility with friendly staff. The weather throughout the cruise was wet with some strong winds which we sheltered from in Mallaig rafted up to Fyne Lass. During the crossing to S Uist we encountered A pilot whale, dolphins and orca.
